In a world of infinite replication, I believe there is increasing value in things that bear the unmistakable trace of a human hand.
I'd rather make something alive, surprising, and imperfect than something technically flawless but without soul.

Artist Statement
Every piece begins with breath.
To blow glass is, quite literally, to use your breath to bring something new into the world.
From the first gather of molten glass to the moment a piece is placed in the annealer, the glass records what happens to it: every reheat, turn, tool mark, correction and pause; the pull of gravity, the temperature of the room, the pace of a movement, the split second spent deciding what comes next. By the time the object is finished, it contains a history.

The long way back to wonder.
I started blowing glass because my last name is Glassman. That isn’t quite the whole story.
In the years before I entered a hot shop, I had been looking more closely at my paternal lineage, trying to understand what I carried and what I might leave behind. Then, in the summer of 2023, curiosity became physical: heat, breath, molten glass, and the strange pleasure of trying to shape something that refuses complete control.
A few months later, I broke my neck.
In the emergency room, somewhere between terror, pain, and something I still can’t fully explain, a sentence spoke from somewhere deep within me. It has stayed with me ever since.
Commissions
A piece can begin with a place, a memory, a color, or simply a feeling.
I take on a limited number of commissions for individual collectors, residential spaces, galleries and select collaborators. The goal is not to reproduce something that already exists. It is to begin with an idea, enter into a conversation with the material, and see what glass can make of it.
